Benefits
Solid Surface products solve many problems in Kitchen design and
use. Because it is “solid”, sheets of the material can be glued or
“seamed” together to make a countertop of any shape or
configuration. The finished product looks like it came out of a
custom-made mould. The joints or seams are virtually undetectable.
This allows Interior designers to designs Kitchens, bathrooms, etc.
that are not limited by the sheet size of the material being used.
Solid Surface is a renewable product. Blemishes such as stains and
scratches can be easily sanded out; restoring the countertop to its
original condition years after it was first installed. The best
finished is the matte/satin finished as it requires less maintenance
than any other finishes.
There is no worry about de-lamination with Solid Surface as it is
homogenous.
It is seamless. No joints can be seen. Therefore, it yields
limitless design possibilities and superior hygienic performance as
there is no grout lines or caulked or epoxied joints (as with
natural stone) to catch dirt and germs. And because it is virtually
non-porous, most bacteria and fungi simply cannot grow on it. The
salmonella that will find its way into most other surfaces will not
last on Solid Surface. It is for this reason that Solid Surface and
Stainless Steel are the only two surfaces that have received the
NSF31 approval for used in food preparation areas.
Cleanability and ease of maintenance, they are unmatched. Products
that would ruin other countertops, like Ajax or Comet, only bring
out the luster of a matte finish Solid Surface top.
Solid Surface sinks come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours.
When “seamed” to the countertop, the effect is a monolithic,
“seamless” sink/worktop combined with no unsightly, unhygienic
“ring” or under mount “lip”. You can even custom routed a drain
board or inlay designs on your tops.
Because it is virtually unaffected by moisture, it does not support
the growth of mold or mildew.
